Form Deck is a term used to describe deck that is most frequently used as a stay in place form for structural concrete. It is designed to serve as a permanent steel base for poured concrete, eliminating the time and cost of wood forming. Steel form deck can be used in a variety of ways, as installation is fast, easy, and economical.

Because it does not have mechanical embossments in the webs, it cannot develop composite action, and other means of reinforcement must be used in the concrete. It strictly serves as a platform for concrete or fill over open web joists, structural steel, light gage framing, or masonry walls.

9/16″ Form Deck is used for reinforced concrete slabs and as a roof or lightweight insulating concrete roof deck system, when a non-composite slab is required and the clear span is short. It is available in gauges 28, 26, 24, 22, and 20. OEG Form Decks are UL approved.
